Prompts worth reusing, with the reasoning left in

Each prompt explains its placeholders, when to use it and when not to, how to adapt it, and how to check the answer before you rely on it. Copy it as it is, or fill it in on the page first.

Good places to start

Three prompts chosen by the editor.

  1. PL-01 · Understand

Summarise a document and point to the passage behind every claim

A summary you can check: each point quotes the sentence it came from, and anything the document does not say is marked as missing.

  2. PL-04 · Write

Get a critical review of a draft before you send it

Asks the model to read as your actual reader and find what is unclear, missing or likely to be misread, instead of polishing sentences.

  3. PL-09 · Plan

Run a pre-mortem: imagine the plan failed and find out why

Assumes the plan has already failed, lists the most plausible reasons, and turns each into an early warning sign and a cheap precaution.

Using a prompt from here

  1. Fill the placeholders

Replace every word in double braces with your own material, on the page or in your tool.

  2. Read the answer critically

Use the Check the answer list on the entry before you act on the result.

  3. Adapt it and keep it

Try the adaptation notes, and save the prompts you return to. The shortlist stays in this browser.
